Korean Cultural Club Special Activity of the Year cum 13th Activity-- Ha Ji Won (1st Asia Tour in Singapore) Fan Meeting 10 January 2015

SJI Korean Club was actually invited to be attend Ha Ji Won's 1st Asia Tour in Singapore!  As part of K-Explorer and the media team for SJI Korean Cultural Club, I (Tian Tian) went down to Singapore Conference Hall to cover this event.

And I must emphasize that this is in fact one of the best Fan Meetings/Concerts I have been to. Do allow me to share with you why.

1) Ha Ji Won ssi is really hardworking.

She learned English so that she can communicate with the Emcees and the audience in English instead of Korean which most of the fans couldn't speak or understand. She also sang a Chinese song entitled “对面的男孩看过来” (The boy opposite is looking over at me) to better engage the audience.

2) She never forgets any of her fans when they shouted.

Ha Ji Won ssi actually praise her Singaporean Fans for speaking to her in Korean. In a separate segment of the Fan Meet, Ha Ji Won ssi was talking about Korea and so I shouted from my seat "Gachi Kaja" (Let's go together!) And surprisingly Ji Won ssi heard me and said that she would hold another fan meet in Korea if we want her too! She's really enthusiastic and friendly I would say.

3) She 'upgrades' the prizes in artiste-fan games.

There were 2 games played during the Fan Meet. In the first game, 4 fans compete have the most whipped cream on their lips through drinking Cappuccino. The one with the most whipped cream on their lips will get to take a 1-to-1 polaroid photo with Ha Ji Won. While there can only be one winner, Ha Ji Won offered to take photos with all of them, and insisted on taking 1-to-1 photos with each and every of the 4 fans (instead of a group photo).

In the second game, 3 lucky fans will have to shoot a toy arrow on a target. If the arrow lands on a blue area (seen from photo below), it is 1 point, which equates to a 15s stare between the fan and Ji Won ssi. If it lands on the red or yellow, it means 2 and 3 pts respectively, which basically means a warm handshake and a tight hug. But since a young fan was unable to get any point, Ha Ji Won upped her prizes such that all 3 fans up on stage will at least get to stare at her for 15s.

4) She is really cute.

Ha Ji Won ssi actually danced for every one in her song “对面女孩看过来”, which is cuteness 10000000000000!

5) Everyone (Artiste and Organising Team) made the event unique and fan-service oriented.

Everyone leaves the conference hall with a high-touch as well as a piece of hand signed
soap. Its is really nice to leave after seeing her up close and speaking to her. Ha Ji Won ssi also thanked each and every audience individually during the high touch session. In addition, the hand signed soap is definitely a precious momento to many. It's really heartwarming and I'm sure a lot of effort is put in on Ha Ji Won ssi and her team's part.

In a nutshell, this is really a fan service oriented fan meeting and I could see the entire organising team and the artiste looking even into the finest details to make this event a memorable for everyone. Thank you KMTV for inviting SJI Korean Cultural Club to cover the event.

Ha Ji Won 1st Asia Tour in Singapore 2015 'Bridge of Friendship'

I believed everyone has heard that our Empress Ki, Ha Ji Won is right now here in Singapore for her first Asia Fan Meeting titled 'Bridge of Friendship'!

As we know, Ha Ji Won had been here in Singapore in September last year to promote her drama entitled 'Empress Ki'.

This year, Ha Ji Won is back to meet our Singapore fans and to share her experiences with them! I'm sure everyone is familiar with the top star through her various dramas such as Hwang Jin Yi (2006), Secret Garden (2010), King 2 Hearts (2012) and finally a record breaking drama Empress Ki (2014). This time round, you will not only see the her through the dramas, but see her in person!

Ha Ji Won has been working very hard for this fan meeting in Singapore and the fan meeting is really promising. She gave her words to giving something special to Singapore so do come down to Ha Ji Won's 1st Asia Tour in Singapore, January 10, 7.30pm Singapore Conference Hall.

Korean Cultural Club Special Activity of the Year (cum 12th Activity)--Ex-SKarf member FerlynG's Launch at Bugis+

So yeah, there was also quite a bit of talk about FerlynG's launch of her first solo album <First> in Singapore, so here we are!

As year 2015 starts, fellow Korean Cultural Club (SJI KCC) representatives Iswarya and I (Tian Tian) were headed right down to Bugis+ for this event. If you can remember, SJI KCC had an interview cum backstage meetup session with Ferlyn back in June 2014 as well, so this time round we are definitely supporting her for sure!

We were invited by our SJI Old Boy, Alan Chan, CEO of IGlobal Star to cover this event. And here you can see picture of 3 Josephians--1 Old Boy and 2 Old-girls-to-be.

We are all proud to be a Josephian! And IGlobal Star and Wise Entertainment collaborated in a company called Big Boss. All the best to Alan! SJI will always be behind you!

Coming back to FerlynG, she greeted fans in Korean and Mandarin. (FerlynG's Album is a Kpop Mandopop Fusion Album) This is but of course accompanied by her signature smile.

Then we saw fellow Kpop artiste TinyG's Mint on stage rooting for Ferlyn where they both did the 'Saranghae' heart sign. Mint spoke in English and Ferlyn translated some of the questions by the MC into Korean for her.

Thereafter Ferlyn performs her title track 'Luv Talk' featuring TinyG's Mint--half of the song in Mandarin and the rest in Korean along with Mint. The dance was pitch-perfect and the rhythm was extremely good.

FerlynG's next track is actually a mandarin track titled ‘不见不散’ (Don't forget our date), where she shows her powerful vocals.

Last but not least, there's an autograph session. So I (Tian Tian) went up on stage with my album (that I bought on the event itself) and saw FerlynG! So I said I was from SJI and she remembered me and Iswarya from June!

I asked if Ferlyn could look at the camera that Iswarya is holding and so she smiled and we had a quick photograph taken, though not a full-posed one since we can't find our camera for a moment.

It was a great experience for us and we really enjoyed the launch. We are also glad that we get to foster school spirit in this event as well! All the best, FerlynG for your solo debut and all the best to our fellow Josephian, Alan in IGlobal Star!

And by the way, here's my signed album :)
